Lung Cancer Benefit To Be Held For Deceased Business Leader

A benefit run-walk event will be held in honor of deceased upstate business leader Caine Halter.

Upstate runners and walkers will be able to participate in an event that will benefit thousands of people who have been diagnosed with lung cancer.

The Caine Halter Lungs For Life 5K run-walk and one mile fun run will be held on November 8 at the YMCA of Greenville-Caine Halter Branch, located at 721 Cleveland Street in downtown Greenville. The event is held in honor of Caine Halter, an active member of the upstate community and President of Coldwell Banker Commercial Caine.

Halter died in August 2007 after a 13 month battle with cancer and the race will help raise funds for lung cancer research and go to Uniting Against Lung Cancer, a non-profit organization dedicated to finding a cure for the disease.

Cost for the event is $25 for the run-walk and $15 for the fun walk. People may register to participate at www.lungsforlife.com or call 864-250-4018 for more information.
