14-year-old Reported Missing

The Greenville County Sheriff's Office is classifying the girl as a runaway.

Greenville and Spartanburg County deputies are looking for McKenzie ‘Kenzie’ Church, of Spartanburg.

The 14-year-old student of St. Joseph’s High School in Greenville has been missing since Oct. 11 at , according to a flyer sent to wspa.com by an Upstate church.

Church is described as being 5’3”, 98lbs., brown/hazel eyes, dark brown/black hair. Church could be wearing a black hoodie and carrying a white pocketbook with black polka dots.

She may be traveling with a friend, 17-year-old Ryan Schichtel of Greenville County in a ’97 Honda Accord four-door, hunter green, tag no. SC AGX557, according to Greenville County deputies.

Greenville County deputies told us the missing girl is being treated as a runaway. Her friend is not considered a runaway because of his age. Deputies do not feel the pair is in danger.

Master Deputy Tony Ivey of Spartanburg County told us that the sheriff's office typically works 10 to 15 missing juveniles a month. Usually these are found within a short period of time. Most of them, Ivey said, spend the night with a friend and don't tell their parents. Currently Spartanburg County has two open runaway case. Church is one of them.
