Bank Robbery Reported In Clinton

Officials don't believe the suspect was armed during the robbery.

A man made off with an undisclosed amount of money during an early Thursday afternoon bank robbery in Clinton, said Clinton's Public Safety Chief. Police are searching for the suspect, described as a black man, 25-30 years old, about 6'0", wearing a long gray button up shirt, beige pants, an orange baseball hat and sunglasses. Call Clinton Public Safety at 864-833-7512 if you have information on the crime.

From Clinton Public Safety Chief John Thomas:
About 12:07 Clinton Public Safety received an alarm call from Palmetto Bank, located at 101 West Carolina St. in Clinton.

A black male, between 25-30 years old, about six-foot-tall and wearing a long gray button up shirt, beige pants and an orange baseball hat and sunglasses wrote a note on an envelope and gave it to the teller. The teller gave the man an undisclosed amount of money and the man left the scene.

Officials do not believe the man had a weapon but are investigating.
