Polk County Charity Football Game Postponed

From Lt. Matthew Prince, Polk County Sheriff’s Office:

Charity Football Game on October 24, 2008 at 7:30 PM, Polk County High School. This is a charity game for the Polk County Youth Football Program. All the proceeds from the game go to the program i.e. ticket sales, concessions, and donations. The tickets are $5.00 to get in for adults and school kids will be admitted free. The concessions will be the same as regular football games.

Last year the event raised about $5,000.00. They are hoping to play at least one more game if not two. These will be to benefit the Polk County Red Cross and the Needy Fund for Christmas.

The rosters have people participating from the following places:

Law Enforcement- Polk County Sheriff’s Office, Columbus Police, Black Mountain Police, NC Highway Patrol, Polk County DSS

vs.

Fire Department- Columbus Fire Dept., Mill Spring F.D., Sunny View F.D., Green Creek F.D., Polk County Youth Football Coaches, and others.
