26-year-old Lisa Geise vanished 20 years ago from Gwinnett County, Georgia under mysterious circumstances. Deputies began digging up a well Thursday in Greer. On Friday, they called off the search for the weekend because of rainy weather.
News Channel 7’s Kristen Nastasia is on the scene. She said investigators are hoping to finish the job today. They expect to get to the bottom of the well and resolve what they came for one way or the other.
So far, investigators say they haven't found anything significant. Gwinnett County police say a tip led them to this site in the search for the body of Lisa Geise. She disappeared from her office 20 years ago where blood was found along with her purse and car dumped nearby. It has been a mystery every since.
Officials said they would continue to search until it was too dark to work safely.
Deputies say the people who live here in this house now have nothing to do with this investigation. But Friday we learned the man authorities think may have had something to do with Geise's disappearance now lives only about four miles away in Taylors.
We contacted Lisa Griese's parents who live in Florida about their daughter's investigation.
They say the police have asked them not to make any comments but they do have their theories about what happened to their daughter and they will share the information when the time is right.
