The mountain snow showers have wound down, and mostly clear and dry conditions will settle in for tonight. Winds will ease up a little and temperatures should drop quickly overnight.
A freeze warning is in effect for the Upstate, the foothills and Piedmont of North Carolina, and into northeastern Georgia from midnight through 9 AM. Widespread lows in the lower 30s are expected in these areas. There are no warnings in the mountains as you’ve already seen your killing freeze of the season.
High pressure will continue to build in over the rest of the week, so count on a slow warming trend with clear and dry conditions. Mild afternoons and cool mornings will be in place by the weekend.
