Salvation Army Accepting Applications For Christmas Assistance

News Release – For Immediate Release
The Salvation Army of Greenville County will be accepting applications for Christmas assistance, including toys, children’s clothing and food, from Tuesday, November 4, 2008 through Friday, November 7, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Information required to make application is as follows:
1. Social Security cards for everyone in the household
2. Household summary print out from Department of Social Service Office (DSS)
3. Income verification within the last 30 days for all members of the household where you reside
4. Driver’s License or Picture ID with current address on the card
5. Proof of expenses within the last 30 days for the household where you reside
6. Birth Certificates FOR ALL CHILDREN
ALL INFORMATION WILL BE REQUIRED TO MAKE APPLICATION WITHOUT EXCEPTION
Applications will be accepted at:
Carolina First Center (formerly the Palmetto Expo Center)
Hall D
One Exposition Avenue
Greenville, SC
Access is off Pleasantburg Drive

In Rabun County Georgia a tanker truck has overturned leaking fuel and diesel into the roadway. Officials say that on US 76 near the Long Creek community approximately one mile into Georgia has been closed for hours. The road should reopen sometime during Saturday night.
