Storm Team 7 Meteorologists told us today that we will continue to see light snow showers in the higher elevations of the Western North Carolina mountains.
Residents there can expect one to three inches of snow, according to meteorologist Richard McCollough.
The National Weather Service reports that parts of Western North Carolina, especially those counties near the Tennesee border, are still under a winter weather advisory until 2pm Tuesday.
The counties included in the advisory are Avery, Madison, Yancey, Mitchell, Swain and Haywood. It also includes the cities of Newland, Spruce Pine, Cherokee and Waynesville.
McCollough said the rest of our area in Western North Carolina and Upstate South Carolina can expect sunny skies and chilly temperatures with more sunshine expected on Wednesday.
Fair weather is expected to continue through the weekend.
