Filling up in the Upstate is becoming more and more of an inconvience to drivers.
A gas shortage in the Southeast is forcing some gas stations to limit sales and others to close.
Experts say the hurricane is to blame.
In Duncan drivers couldn't hide their frustration when they pulled up at an Ingles only to find out it is completely out of all grades of gas.
Other gas stations across the upstate are expirencing similiar shortages.
Kangroo stores now have this sign posted on their pumps urging drivers not to buy more than 10 gallons at a time.
Spinx officials tell us their fuel suppliers warned them today of an uncoming temperary shortage of fuel due to refiners closing for the hurricane.
Confused and frustration drivers are already experiencing first hand the effects of the shortage.
How long will the shortage last?
Experts say hopefully only the length of the storm.
A Spinx spokesperson told News Channel 7 that deliveries are about 5 days behind the normal schedule.
News Channel 7 called Ingles stations Thursday afternoon to check on gas supplies. Here is what we found.
The status on gas supplies is likely to change.
Spartanburg:
Asheville Hwy- All grades available, not worried.
Boiling Springs Road- All grades available, not worried
Chesnee Hwy-All grades available, but expect to run out of unleaded Friday
Clemson-
Hwy 93- All grades available and plenty.
Liberty:
East Main- All grades available and plenty.
Laurens:
East Main-All grades available….but probably run out later Thursday.
Ran out of unleaded and mid grade the last three days towards the end of the day.
Landrum:
Hwy 14 East-All grades available
Inman:
Hwy 9- expects to run out of all grades in next hour as of Noon Thursday
Duncan:
East Main: station closed out of gas
Easley:
Calhoun Memorial Hwy- Ran out Wednesday. Truck made a delivery Thursday but don’t know if it will last.
Pelzer Hwy- All grades available
Seneca-
US 76/123-All grades available for at least the next few hours as of Noon Thursday, but unsure if it will last through the day. They ran out of unleaded Wednesday night and were forced to close for several hours.
Travelers Rest:
Greer Hwy: All grades available but unsure how long it will last-low.
The CBS affiliate in Houston, KHOU, is reporting stations there are running out of gas due to evacuations. KHOU also reports gas jumped to more than 4 dollars a gallon from about 3.35 Thursday.
