Chuck Norris, star of “Walker Texas Ranger,” martial arts expert, teacher and author will speak at Furman University on Monday.
Norris will discuss his life and career, according to a university press release. He will also discuss his latest book, “Black Belt Patriotism.”
The event is free and open to the public.
A question and answer session and a book signing will follow.
The event is co-sponsored by the University’s College Republicans and Young America’s Foundation.
Norris starred in the CBS television series, Walker, Texas Ranger, for eight full seasons. The program continues to air daily in the U.S. and in more than 80 countries worldwide, with an estimated global audience of one billion viewers. He has also starred in films such as Delta Force, Missing in Action, Lone Wolf McQuade and Sidekicks.
Norris' popularity led to his being the subject of countless fictional "facts" created by fans and circulated on the Internet, many of which are endorsed and enjoyed by Norris (i.e., They wanted to put Chuck Norris on Mt. Rushmore, but the granite wasn't tough enough for his beard.).
The event starts at 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 29 at McAlister Auditorium.
