Spartanburg County Sheriff's deputies had to chase a handcuffed suspect on foot after stopping him in Boiling Springs.

Corey Lee Walker is charged with two counts of possession of a schedule IV narcotic plus resisting arrest. He was also ticketed for driving under suspension while suspended for DUI after the stop on Monday afternoon.

A deputy says he saw a Honda Civic that was being driven erratically on Highway 9 about 4:15pm and stopped the car near the intersection at Bellview Drive.

The deputy says a man was driving the car, but he switched seats with a woman in the Honda after the stop. Deputies say they found Xanax and Darvocet in Walker's possession without a prescription for those narcotics.

Deputies also learned that Walker's South Carolina driver's license was suspended for a driving under the influence conviction.

Walker was placed in handcuffs, but he broke free from the officers and ran down Bellview Drive. He was caught by deputies and taken to the Spartanburg County Detention Center.
