**Wednesday 10:20am Update**

Governor Mark Sanford's spokesman Ben Fox has released his schedule for Wednesday. No public events are currently scheduled for the remainder of this week.

Governor Sanford will be working in the office in Columbia.

Among the meetings he will be taking part in include:

- Meeting with staff and Labor, Licensing and Regulation Director Adrienne Youmans regarding the ongoing enforcement of the state's recently-enacted immigration law, including the latest audits by the agency of larger employers across the state

- Briefing by Comptroller General Richard Eckstrom regarding the work of the Stimulus Oversight Task Force

- Briefing by General George Patrick regarding encroachment issues around the state's military facilities

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford is set to return to work after a two-week European vacation with his wife and four sons in an effort to fix things with his family.

When he left the country on July 23, Sanford said he would return to work on Wednesday.

Sanford returned from a nearly weeklong disappearance June 24 to reveal he was in Argentina with his mistress, not hiking the Appalachian Trail as his staff had believed. The governor says he considered canceling the long-planned trip in light of the scandal, but it was too important for his family.

Sanford returns on the same day his chief spokesman is leaving. Communications director Joel Sawyer is resigning effective Wednesday to start his own consulting firm.
