COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - A federal judge says a lawsuit over a fatal South Carolina Learjet crash that killed four people and injured two music celebrities should be handled in state court.
Court documents show U.S. District Judge Matthew J. Perry Jr. on Monday granted the request by Inter Travel & Services Inc. and Global Exec Aviation Inc.
The plane's owner and operator sued the Columbia Metropolitan Airport, Learjet Inc. and Bombardier Aerospace Corp., arguing that designs of the airport's runway and jet were defective.
The Learjet crashed at Columbia Metropolitan Airport last September, injuring rock drummer Travis Barker and celebrity disc jockey DJ AM. The pilot, co-pilot and two others were killed.
Investigators have not determined what caused the crash.
