Spartanburg County deputies are looking for two men they say robbed a man at gunpoint outside of his home.
Deputies responded to the call on Dover Road Thursday night.
Nalin Patel says he had just returned home from work when to men approached him outside of his vehicle. "As I came out of my car and opened the back door, two bad guys came out from somewhere," he said.
Investigators say one of the two men stuck a gun to Patel's head, told him not to make a sound, and hand over his money.
Deputies tell us there are things you can do to protect yourself.
1. Make sure your home is well-lit... outside.
2. If someone approaches you, do not resist if they have a weapon.
3. If they don't- have a weapon then you should try to run away.
4. Deputies remind you there are more chances of being hurt if you are taken to a second location. If you can get away then do it.
In 2008 there were 113 robberies in Spartanburg County between January and August.
There were 105 robberies during those same months this year.
The Sheriff's Office says although robberies are down as a whole robberies of businesses are actually up by eight.
