The Reidville Fire Department, Pelham Fire Department, GSP Fire Department, Duncan Fire Department and the Forestry Service all were at the scene of a fast moving brush fire, on Monday afternoon that officials say was fueled by wind, low humidity, and hot, dry conditions.
The fire threatened several homes earlier, before it was brought under control, firefighters able to quickly make a fireline around the homes.
This all happened on the 100 block of Leonard Road in Duncan and consumed a little less than two acres.
Firefighters had to deal with the hot weather, many of them needing water and rest.
Firefighters expect more brush fires like this as hot temperatures continues.
Its believe an out of contol burn from a nearby home started this, but firefighters have not ruled an official cause.
