A sex sting operation at an Upstate park where there's been problems in the past. It’s a 7 On Your Side Crime Tracker.
Anderson Police made three arrests at Darwin Wright Park. 80-year-old Herold Martin, 54-year-old Timothy Brooks, and 43-year-old James Conley are all facing charges. Investigators say Martin solicited an officer in the male restroom at the park. Officers say they observed Brooks and Conley in a truck together participating in a lewd act.
News Channel has learned Tim Brooks is listed under staff on the Calvary Baptist Church website. The Williamston church shows him as their Music/Educational Minister. Nobody from the church returned the reporter's calls or answered the office door. News Channel 7 also went by Brooks' home but nobody came to the door.
Randall Williams with Anderson Police says, “There's been incidents there arrests there, and like I say, during the summer months and active months at the park they do operations there." "It's been in the news and in print that we conducted operations and stuff there, but they still keep coming to that park," he said.
All three suspects have bonded out of jail.
