WALHALLA, S.C. (AP) - A woman has been rescued after falling 30 feet from a trail in northwestern South Carolina.
The Anderson Independent-Mail reported the woman was rescued Saturday after falling at Issaqueena Falls in Oconee County. She fractured her left ankle and injured her back. Her name was not released.
The county special rescue team says the woman was hiking about 2 p.m. Saturday with her family while wearing flip-flops. She did not end up in the river.
About two dozen people worked for more than 90 minutes to stabilize her, place her in a special basket and move her by hand up the trail to an ambulance. She was being treated at the Oconee Medical Center.
