An Asheville woman is dead and her suspected killer appeared before a judge Monday. Asheville Police said 45-year-old Angela Hart was found dead on West Chestnut Street suffering from stab wounds. They said she ran from a home on Woodlawn Avenue to Young Street with a man chasing after her with a knife. Officers caught the victim's boyfriend Rodney Robinson as he was walking back toward Woodlawn Avenue. Police said Robinson was covered in the victim's blood and admitted to the attack. He is charged with first degree murder.
Robinson is being held in the Buncombe County Detention Center. He appeared before a judge Monday. Robinson asked for a court appointed attorney. No bond was set. His next hearing is scheduled for September 3.
