A man has pleaded guilty to robbing banks all over South Carolina including Spartanburg. Officers arrested Jeffrey Patrick Frye in North Charleston earlier this year after a standoff.
They said he held up the First Citizens Bank on Reidville Road in January while former South Carolina House Representative Scott Talley was inside.
Investigators said he also robbed banks in the Midlands and the Lowcountry.
Frye will be sentenced later and could face 140 years in prison and nearly $2 million in fines.
