**Friday 11:19am Update**
Spartanburg Public Safety officers say Stanley Drummond was seriously injured when he was struck by the car early Friday morning.
No condition has been released for Drummond by Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
A police incident report says Drummond had a large gash on his left arm and was unresponsive after officers arrived at the scene. Investigators determined the victim was hit in the road after he purchased cigarettes at a Hot Spot store.
The only description of the vehicle available was that it is a small, dark four-door car.
The search is on for a hit and run driver who police say ran over and severly injured a pedestrain early Friday morning. Spartanburg Public Safety Officers said a man was hit by a car as he crossed Henry Street near South Converse Street around 1:30 a.m. Friday morning. Officers said the car never stopped and the victim was found lying in the road. He was rushed to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
Police do not have a clear description of the car they are trying to find, but they believe it could have damage to the front end.
