GREER, S.C. (AP) - Hundreds of Michelin employees are wrapping
up a project to build two homes for Habitat for Humanity.
Michelin North America Inc. says more than 500 employees are
celebrating in Greer Friday the completion of homes for two area
families. Company chairman and president Dick Wilkerson is
presenting house keys to the two families.
Volunteer employees from Michelin started on the project in May,
and officials say they are finishing ahead of schedule.
Earlier this month, Michelin announced that employees will
volunteer in eight elementary schools across South Carolina under a
program seeking to help the neediest students and boost the state's
graduation rate.
Michelin North America is headquartered in Greenville and
employs 22,500 in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
