A 23-year old man has been killed after a motorcycle accident on White Horse Road in Greenville County.
The accident happened just after 1 pm and Greenville County Deputy Coroner Kent Dill says that 23-year old Tristan Sherard Holland, of Anderson, was driving his Suzuki motorcycle on Highway 25 with two other riders when they approached a red light at the intersection of Highway 183. When the light turned green, Holland and the other riders took off and midway down the road, a Toyota Camry was attempting to turn left into a shopping center.
Dill says that Holland put the motorcycle down in an attempt to avoid the Camry and when he did the motorcycle skidded into the opposite direction and he struck the car with his body. Holland was wearing a helmet, but it was dislodged upon impact.
He was airlifted to Greenville Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 1:45 pm.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
