NEWBERRY, S.C. (AP) - It wasn't a winning lottery ticket worth
$260 million, but one South Carolina man is $1 million richer after
buying a winning scratch-off ticket.
The South Carolina Education Lottery said Friday the man claimed
his $1 million prize after purchasing the ticket in Newberry, but
asked that his name not be released. The man bought the Cash
Bonanza Bonus ticket for $10.
The win comes just days after a retired South Carolina state
employee stepped forward to claim the largest Powerball jackpot
ever won with a ticket bought in the state.
Solomon Jackson Jr., of Columbia gave few details about himself
or how he will spend the money. He purchased his ticket last week
at a gas station and convenience store next to a Wal-Mart in
Columbia.
