NEW YORK (AP) - Authorities don't expect to know for weeks what killed celebrity disc jockey DJ AM, who was found dead in a Manhattan apartment.

New York City medical examiner's office spokeswoman Ellen Borakove says more investigation and testing - including toxicology tests - are needed after an autopsy Saturday of the 36-year-old. She says the process is expected to take several weeks.

A law enforcement official has told The Associated Press police found a crack pipe and prescription pills in the apartment where they discovered DJ AM's body Friday. The official spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the investigation was ongoing.

DJ AM had openly discussed past addictions to crack cocaine, Ecstasy and other drugs. His real name was Adam Goldstein.

DJ AM and former Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker were the only two survivors in a plane crash that killed four people at the Columbia Metropolitan Airport last fall.

Associated Press Writer Colleen Long in New York contributed to this report.
