Anderson- A horse farm owner is devastated after he says someone shot and killed his horse.
Monte Beasley believes someone shot and killed his 7-year old mare "Katie" sometime before Friday morning.
The horse owner says someone shot his horse at close range with either a gun or device used at slaughter houses. "Someone shot her right dead center in the head and killed her and she dropped right there on the spot," Beasley said.
Beasley doesn't think the killing was a result of a hunter because his horse farm is located in the middle of a neighborhood. "We live in a mean world and cruel world. Sheriff's Office asked me have you made anybody mad? Not as far as I know. I do own a business and have laid people off," he said.
Beasley says professionals at the University of Georgia are doing an autopsy on his animal. He is also offering a thousand dollar reward to anyone with information that will help lead to the arrest of the person responsible. You can contact Monte Beasley (864) 940-4520.
