The Oconee County Sheriff's Office reports after acting on an anonymous tip, investigators served an arrest warrant on 54-year old Charles Wayne Morgan, of Walhalla. Morgan was arrested as a Fugitive From Justice stemming from active warrants in the state of Florida.
Officials say during the arrest, investigators found over one hundred marijuana plants in various stages of growth inside the home. They also seized approximately $8,500 in counterfeit currency.
Sheriff’s narcotics agents were called to assist in the investigation. The drugs seized are valued at approximately $110,000.
Morgan faces local charges of Trafficking Marijuana in addition to several out-of-state charges in multiple states. He is being held at the Oconee County Detention Center pending a bond hearing.
