CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - A South Carolina woman has been charged with drunken driving after authorities say she drove the wrong way on Interstate 26 and crashed into a tractor-trailer.
WCSC-TV in Charleston reports that 57-year-old Gaynelle Cuthburtson of Summerton hit the tractor-trailer head on while driving the wrong way on I-26 near Jedburg Wednesday night.
Cuthburtson was flown to the Medical University of South Carolina and charged with DUI. It was not immediately clear if she had an attorney.
The tractor-trailer driver was not hurt.
The interstate's westbound lanes were shut down while authorities investigated the crash.
