A problem with the post office ended in gunshots Monday afternoon in a Greenville County neighborhood.
The incident happened around 4:00 p.m. on Cashmere Drive. The Sheriff's Office says a deputy went with the postal inspector to one of the homes there.
We're told the resident had ongoing complaints about his mail service. When the deputy arrived the the sheriff's office says the man pulled a revolver out of his pocket. The deputy pulled out his own gun, struggled with the suspect and 4 shots went off.
Amazingly no one was hurt.
47 year old Michael Hendricks was arrested overnight. Hendricks has been charged with two counts of Assault with Intent to Kill, one count of Assault and Battery of a High and Aggravated Nature and one count of Pointing and Presenting a Firearm.
Hendricks remains in the Greenville County Detention Center under a $19,000 bond.
Hendricks may face additional charges from the U.S. Postal Service and you will need to contact them for information concerning their investigation. The Sheriff's Office says there will be no review of the deputy's actions because Hendricks was the one who pulled the trigger.
