CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - South Carolina Republicans running for governor in 2010 are set to debate on the coast.
State party officials announced Thursday that the Jan. 28 debate will be moderated by cable television host Joe Scarborough. The debate is to be held at Memminger Auditorium in Charleston.
U.S. Rep. Gresham Barrett, Lt. Gov. Andre Bauer, state Sen. Larry Grooms, state Rep. Nikki Haley and Attorney General Henry McMaster are running in the Republican primary. Five Democrats also are running.
Gov. Mark Sanford's second and final term ends in January 2011.
