Spartanburg County Sheriff's deputies say they arrested a woman after they say she wore a ski mask to hold up a Dollar General Store at gunpoint.
Christina Ryan Fordham, 20, is charged with armed robbery after the incident Monday night. Fordham is also being held on an outstanding charge of fraudulent check.
Deputies say Fordham went into the Dollar General at 3810 Highway 11 at 9:45 p.m. wearing a ski mask and armed with a handgun. A clerk tells deputies she had her back to the door when she "heard a 'click' sound" according to the incident report.
The clerk says she saw the robber holding the gun in one hand while pulling a brown ski mask over her head. She told the clerk "she had 30 seconds to open the safe." Money from the register was put into a bag.
The robber took the money and left on foot, before a store worker called police.
SCSO brought in a K-9 team and set up a perimeter around a wooded area. Fordham was arrested without incident, but she asked to be taken to a hospital after she was taken into custody according to the incident report.
The officer states Fordham was treated and released from Mary Black Hospital and was taken to the Spartanburg County Detention Center.
A bond hearing has not been scheduled.
