OTTAWA (AP) - Canadians are ready to greet President Barack
Obama on his first foreign trip on Thursday.
It'll be a short visit, about six hours. He's not even staying
for dinner.
But it's causing excitement just the same.
The director of the Canada Institute at the Woodrow Wilson
Center for International Scholars says while most Canadians found
the former president "radioactive," they love Obama.
Enthusiastic crowds are expected in Ottawa where he'll join
Conservative Prime Minister Stephen Harper for a working lunch.
Foreign trade is expected to be on the menu. And there'll be a
joint news conference afterward. Obama will also meet briefly with
Liberal opposition leader Michael Ignatieff.
