Several Greenville County roads will be closed - for a day at a time - as a contractor makes road repairs around CSX railroad crossings.
Jerry Fowler with R.H. Deal Asphalt says the following roads will be closed at some point on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday for work where the railroad tracks cross the road. It takes a day to complete the work:
Starting Thursday morning, Washington Avenue will be closed as they replace the tracks.
Here’s the detour – Anderson Road to Hwy 25 (White Horse Road) to US-123 to Washington Avenue.

Piedmont Park
Beverly Road
Tulip Street
Kerns Avenue
Buncombe Road
Hampton Avenue
Woodlawn Avenue
Arnold Street
Gordon Street
The following roads are scheduled for work around railroad tracks on Wednesday:
Washington Avenue
Commerce Street
Two Notch Road
Fowler says work crews and the South Carolina Department of Transportation are planning similar work that will close White Horse Road at railroad tracks between March 4-6.
