The city of Easley became the 11th South Carolina to ban smoking in public places in November. The city’s ordinance went into full effect on Thursday.
The new ordinance prohibits smoking in all enclosed public places in the city, including restaurants, bars and malls.
The ban was already in effect for city sponsored events.
Clemson and Liberty enacted similar laws earlier in 2008.
