A dense fog advisory remains in effect until 9 am est Monday morning, according to the National Weather Service.
Forecasters say dense fog will continue to expand across Upstate South Carolina, Northeast Georgia and the Southern North Carolina Piedmont.
Visibility of 1/4 mile or less can be expected across much of the area for motorists traveling along Interstate-85 between Northeast Georgia and Charlotte and along Interstate-26 between Columbia and the mountains, and other roads and highways across the area.
A dense fog advisory means visibilities will frequently be reduced to less than one quarter mile. If driving, slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.
