On Tuesday the Highway Patrol says a driver was killed on Ireland Road, close to Turner Road, just outside Pickens. They aren’t sure when the wreck happened.
Kathy Hiles of the Highway Patrol says the car, the only vehicle involved, dipped off the right side of the road and hit the end of the guard rail and overturned in a creek.
Hiles says they don’t think the accident was weather related. She also says the driver was reported missing on Saturday to the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office.
The Pickens County Coroner says toxicology tests and an autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday.
The driver wasn’t wearing a seatbelt.
