Charles Lea Center Van Left in Tough Spot

»  Comments | Post a Comment

A driver leaves a van in a precarious position Wednesday morning in Spartanburg.

The Charles Lea Center van was dangling over an embankment on Union Street. Spartanburg Police say the driver had stopped to pick up passengers, but accidentally put the van in "reverse" instead of "park.".

As she got out of the vehicle, it rolled backwards toward the steep embankment, but somehow managed to avoid going over the edge. Officers say Wanda Jackson, 59, suffered a minor cut to the head and was taken to a hospital.

Jackson was the van driver. No one was on board at the time of the accident.
