GOV. EASLEY APPOINTS THORNBURG TO BUNCOMBE COUNTY SUPERIOR COURT

RALEIGH –-Gov. Mike Easley today announced the appointment of Alan Z. Thornburg to the 28th Judicial District Superior Court bench in Buncombe County. Thornburg will fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Ronald K. Payne.

He was previously a judge on the North Carolina Court of Appeals and prior to that was a member of the law firm of Patla, Straus, Robinson & Moore in Asheville.
