RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - North Carolina supporters of President-elect Barack Obama are packing into the National Mall along with hundreds of thousands of others eager to watch his
inauguration.
Shelton Iddeen of Greensboro arrived at the Mall at 4 a.m. on Tuesday and huddled in front of an ambulance to warm up. The 57-year-old said he couldn't feel his toes and worried about others trying to keep warm in the frigid weather.
North Carolina residents found inaugural tickets to be hot ones. A spokesman for North Carolina Sen. Kay Hagan said more than 400 people were on the waiting list to get unclaimed tickets, and some
people were waiting in line as early as Monday morning.
Hagan's office said she was able to get an extra 125 tickets, but not enough for everyone that wanted one.
