Two Laurens County ladies were named Miss South Carolina and Miss Teen South Carolina Saturday night at Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium.
Miss Hartsville, Kelly Sloan was crowned as Miss South Carolina. The 24-year old Gray Court resident sang "For Once In My Life" and was rewarded with a $15,000 cash scholarship.
Meanwhile, 17-year old Ali Rogers was named Miss Teen South Carolina. Rogers, who was Miss Teen Laurens, won a preliminary talent competition for playing her rendition of "In The Mood" on the piano. She was awarded with a $5,000 savings bond and will compete in Miss America's Outstanding Teen Competition in Orlando, Florida in August.
Sloan will compete at the Miss America Pageant in Las Vegas in January.
