Pickens County Wants To Prevent More Drownings; News Conference Friday

On Friday community groups in Pickens County plan to start a campaign to keep promote water safety. The initiative follows a drowning that happened in Easley back in June. The coroner said a family of three died.
The Pickens County Coroner's Office said an 8-year-old boy wandered into a backyard swimming pool on Hamburg Road. They believe 27-year-old Maria Juan went in with Arnulfo Francisco to save him, but none of them could swim.
Details of the campaign will be announced later Friday.
