GARNER, N.C. (AP) - Work is resuming at a Slim Jim snack factory
in North Carolina five weeks after a gas explosion damaged half the
building and killed three employees.
Multiple media outlets reported Friday that workers at the
ConAgra facility in Garner, east of Raleigh, were told they could
return to work.
Training is scheduled to start July 19, and production will
resume July 27.
ConAgra spokeswoman Stephanie Childs says all employees have
been asked to come back to the plant. The workers have been paid
their wages since the explosion closed the facility.
Investigators said the blast appeared to stem from natural gas
being vented into the building.
