The body of a woman was discovered at 105 Cogdell Plaza in Union shortly before 11 pm Saturday night.
The coroner has identified the woman as 43 year old Denise Bradham. The cause of death was determined to be thermal burns.
According to an incident report, when firefighters arrived on scene at the housing complex they found smoke coming from the roof of one of the buildings.
The doors to the complex were locked and firefighters had to make forceable entry into the apartment. Neighbors told firefighters that they believed the tenant was inside the apartment and after a brief search firefighters found the body of a woman lying face-up on the bathroom floor.
Investigators with Union Public Safety were notified of the victim and the SLED arson team was brought in to assist with the investigation.
