WASHINGTON (AP) - A Bureau of Prisons Web site says that
disgraced financier Bernard Madoff has been moved to a federal
prison in Atlanta.
The site was updated early Tuesday to list Madoff's location as
the United States Penitentiary in Atlanta. No further details were
given, and a bureau spokeswoman declined comment early Tuesday.
A law enforcement official told The Associated Press on Monday
that Madoff had left a New York lockup on his way to a North<br />Carolina facility. The person spoke on condition of anonymity
because the official was not authorized to discuss prisoner
transfers.
