Investigators are still looking for clues after the coroner announced an elderly woman, found dead inside her burning Seneca home, was shot and killed possibly four days before.
Oconee County Coroner Karl Addis says that the body of 74-year Frances Hammond Earle was discovered in the bathroom area of the home, located at 115 Brookwood Drive, in Seneca. According to Addis, an autopsy performed on Sunday showed that Earle died from a gunshot to the head. Her manner of death is being classified as a homicide.
Investigators say Earle died sometime late Tuesday evening on the 7th ot Wednesday the 8th.
Investigators with the Oconee County Sheriff's Office, Coroner's Office and State Law Enforcement Division are investigating the fire and Earle's death.
