A Clinton man was killed after he and a passenger were thrown from a moped Wednesday evening.
Steven Campbell, 52, of Clinton died from blunt force trauma to the head and chest according to the Laurens County Coroner.
The S.C. Highway Patrol says Campbell and a woman were riding a 2008 moped at 8:35pm on Bethlehem Church Road - in Laurens County - about four miles east of Clinton.
Troopers say Campbell was traveling east on Bethlehem Church Road exiting a curve when the driver went off the left side of the road and struck a tree.
Campbell was not wearing a helmet.
Gina Vaughn, from Joanna, was injured in the crash and was taken to an emergency room in Laurens. Her condition is not known at this time.
