Three people were arrested by Greenville County Sheriff's deputies and are accused of throwing an explosive device into the yard of a home and blowing up a mailbox.

Caleb Luke Leabeater, 19, Benjamin James Leabeater, 18, and Jakarii Lenn Chappelle, 17, are charged with two counts of possession of an explosive device each.

The Sheriff's Office received two reports on July 8 from a home on North Acres Drive where a bundle of fireworks were thrown into the yard.

Investigators say the device caused minor burn damage to the siding of the home.

Deputies say the three suspects placed a bundle of fireworks into the mailbox of a home on Creighton Drive. The mailbox exploded.

Witnesses from both scenes say they saw a dark colored Jeep Cherokee before and after the explosions occurred. Investigators were then able to identify all suspects and arrested them on July 15.

Chappelle was released from the Greenville County Detention Center after having bond set at $6,000.

Caleb Luke Leabeater is still being held on a total $40,000 bond for both counts.

Benjamin James Leabeater also remains behind bars on $40,000 bond for both counts.
