Anderson County Sheriff John Skipper confirms that his office has become involved in the investigation into the Anderson County Council’s past administrative finances.
Skipper says the law firm leading the investigation for the council, Nexsen Pruet, asked his office to get involved and he now has two investigators working the case.
He cannot discuss anything they’ll be looking into, but says they’ll proceed as they would in any investigation, interviewing people and collecting information.
That information will be turned over to the solicitor. She would be the one to determine if any charges would be filed.
