SC State Senator David Thomas will hold the first organizational meeting of the Senate Finance Subcommittee on Constitutional Administrative offices which has oversight into state funds used by Governor Sanford.
The meeting will be held Friday, July 24th at 2:00pm at Gressette Building in Columbia.
Senator Thomas started calling for an investigation into Sanford after the governor used a business trip to see his mistress in Argentina. Sanford has since repaid money for the Argentina leg of the trip.
Thomas tells News Channel 7 the committee will focus on more than 70 trips the governor asked that SLED not provide security. The committee wants to know if any state money was spent on those trips and what state business was conducted.
