Update 5:15 p.m Sunday <\strong>
Diane Ruggiero Superintendent of Cultural Arts for the city of Asheville says they are pleased with the attendance at this year’s Bele Chere in Asheville. She says they believe that they have equaled attendance in past years. Ruggiero says they appreciate everyone giving their new “footprint” for the festival a try and that they feel that having the children’s area inside the civic center was a huge hit with children and parents.
She also says the weather has been great and right now they are watching a storm that is just to the north of Asheville.
The festival wraps up at 6 p.m. Sunday.
Bele Chere is a three day festival in downtown Asheville. It kicks off Friday July 24. You can expect live music, arts & crafts and family friendly activities.
It's one of the largest outdoor street festivals in the southeast region and it's free to attend!
The festival organizers say the event is a little smaller this year, but they promise the same amount of fun. You can find them at the Asheville Civic Center this year as well.
