LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - The trial of the man charged in the
beating death of an Arkansas television anchorwoman from South
Carolina is being delayed by nearly two months.
The trial of Curtis Lavelle Vance was moved Monday from Sept. 9
to Nov. 2. Judge Chris Piazza said he expects the trial will last
no longer than a week.
Vance is charged with capital murder in the death of Little Rock
television station anchorwoman Anne Pressly, who was from
Greenville, S.C.
Prosecutors have not said if they will seek the death penalty,
but have filed documents outlining why the death penalty could be
appropriate.
Pressly was found at her home by her mother on the morning of
Oct. 20, 2008, unconscious from a severe beating. She died five
days later at a Little Rock hospital - never having regained
consciousness.
